Casa Bonita in Tulsa

We've been studying about Mexico in our homeschool and to end our unit, we thought it would be fun to eat dinner at Casa Bonita in Tulsa. I have very fond memories of eating there when I was a child growing up in OKC. I remember the arcade, the treasure chest, the Mexican guitar player and who can forget raising the flag at your table when you needed service! I was so excited to learn they had one in Tulsa! It has been newly renovated and was actually much nicer than I expected. They really went all out on the decor - it truly looked like a small Mexican village. The food was actually pretty good but next time I will definitely ask to have my sauce put on the side - they pretty much SMOTHER everything with cheese or meat sauce. We had a great time eating with friends and playing games in the Arcade. It is now the girls favorite restaurant and they can't wait to go back again soon! If you live in the Tulsa area and haven't taken your family to Casa Bonita yet, you have to soon! It is sure to become their favorite restaurant, too!

It's looks just like it did when I was a kid although that wasn't too long ago ; )
I have a pic in front of the cave w/my cousins - too cute!
Great pics of the flag & colorful lanterns by the way!

So you would give it a good review then? I read in the Tulsa World that they re-opened this summer and we were gonig to go for my sister's b-day in early August (as she loves Mexican and we frequented there a lot since I grew up in Tulsa). However, I'd gone online and looked up some reviews from people who went to their opening weekend and read lots of negative comments about how dirty it was, the food was gross, most of the games didn't work, the treasure chest had no "treasure" and the clincher for us in August - their air conditioning wasn't working! So I talked my family out of it and we figured we'd try it again later when they had all the kinks worked out. Sounds as if they do now, from your experience. Maybe now's the time for us to go give it a try. :o)
