Officer Long met us outside the Police Station and introduced herself...
She then took us inside and told us what we would be doing on our tour and gave us a "Stranger Danger" talk...
After touring the Station, we went in the room where they book inmates. Officer Long said when an inmate first comes into the jail, they are handcuffed to this bench. All the kids took turns getting handcuffed...
Then we got to see the jail cells - very exciting, but no bars! We were hoping for a "Mayberry Jail Cell" with bars ;-)
I better not see a repeat of this scene in 10 years ;-)
To end our trip, we went outside and got to check out Officer Long's police car...
Time to go! Group hug!
Thank you, Officer Long, for a great tour of the Police Station! No offense but we hope we don't have to run into you under different circumstances ;-)
(Thanks to Leah for providing some of these pics.)

Great pictures. We all enjoyed it too!
Very fun field trip. I think sometimes when our wee ones hear those "Stranger Danger" talks from police officers it sinks in a little more...the uniform??? I know I have those talks with my kids often, going over the rules and telling them that no adult ever needs help from a child...they have cell phones, other adults, gps systems, etc. "how could a child assist an adult?"
I love those field trips. The fire dept is a good one too.
