We were only there for a few days so we had to make the most of our time. Would have loved to stay there longer & do some sight seeing and see my family in Ft. Collins - but will have to save that for another trip. Friday night, we ate dinner at the Grand Lux which was located at the Park Meadows Mall. That was just the coolest mall ever! It had kind of a southwest feel because most the interior was practically covered in wood. It also had HUGE fireplaces that reached up several stories high. It had a lot of neat, unique stores that we don't have in Oklahoma. I could have easily spent a LOT more time there - next trip ;-)
Saturday morning, we woke up and worked out at the hotel's fitness center. It was pretty nice & had all the equipment we needed. Then we ate a late breakfast at Einstein Bros. Bagels. Loooove their bagels - wish there was a location close to our house! Orrrr... maybe that wouldn't be such a great thing ;-)
Later that day, we went to see some old friends we knew from our OSU days. We hadn't seen them in years so it was great to catch up! We also enjoyed meeting their two sons for the first time. Such a sweet family - again, wish we lived closer!
After that, it was time to go to the U2 concert! Ahhhh - mountains! Scenery with a view...
And here's a billboard we passed along the way...
The concert was held at the Invesco Field in Denver. As you can imagine, tons of people were there...
Pre-concert pics. As you can see, the stage was AmAzInG!!!
First up was The Fray...
Intermission pics...
Then - the moment I had waited 27 years to see!
You HAVE to check out this site my friend, Jarae, told me about. Can you find me? You can scroll in and out and you can "hide the tags" to see people's faces. That is just the coolest thing eva! ;-)
Here's some articles & videos about the concert in Denver...
The concert was super high energy and of course, flashy, with all the lights. Totally amazing! The best concert we have ever seen! I loved every minute of it and loved spending the weekend away with my sweet hubby. Happy early 19th Anniversary to us ;-)
