Our Church's New Prayer Room

"Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers, pray for powers equal to your task." --Phillips Brooks

"When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles. When he stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs. When he stops praying, the devil shouts for joy." --Corrie Ten Boom

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." -- Philippians 4:6

Our church dedicated our new prayer room last night. They are hoping to make it available 24/7 soon and they encourage everyone that attends church there to make use of the room as a quiet retreat or a place to go and pray with friends. Here's a few pics of the room...

There is a kneeling bench for prayer and confession and communion is available if you wish to take it.

Of course, this is my favorite part of the room - the Kid's Corner. There is paper, crayons and prayer journals available to write prayer requests and prayers to God. Kids can read books about prayers, as well as look at a basket with nature items in it to observe God's creation.

Screen painting from Uganda...

Lots of prayer materials for the kids to use...
