The girls went to Girl's Club this past Monday and had a blast, as usual! They got to paint, sew a kitty finger puppet, jump rope, decorate cupcakes like a corn on the cob and play games with balloons. The girls also brought canned goods which will be donated to a local food pantry. Fun girly times!

Ladybug Bulletin Board
I just finished painting a bulletin board for a little girl named Abbie. Her parents have decorated her bedroom with red, black and white and have incorporated a ladybug theme.

The Sound of Music
The girls and I recently went with some friends to see a production of The Sound of Music at the Clark Theatre in Tulsa. I'm a little embarrassed to say I am a HUGE Sound of Music fan - it is my all time favorite movie. And yes, I know all of the words to the songs and had to bite my tongue not to sing along with the cast in the play! I even have a set of 8 collectors plates with 8 different scenes from the movie that I won on e-bay. One of these days my sweet hubby is going to hang the two plate racks for me that I purchased several years ago so I can display my plates ;-)
Here's a picture of the girls ready to watch the play. I think they ate all of their popcorn before it even began! We had front row seats - can't beat that!
And here they are at intermission posing on the stage. Are they future actresses or what?!
The girls had a great time after the play was over meeting the cast members and getting their autographs. Here is "A" posing with "Gretel". "A" was starstruck! The cast did a fabulous job!
Ocean-Themed Bathroom
I just finished painting an ocean-themed bathroom for a very sweet family. The ideas for the ocean creatures I painted on the wall came from their cute shower curtain. Here's the shower curtain...
Funny how I love to paint "girly" things but most of my canvasses have been typically for boys ;-)
and here's the mural I painted...
See anything missing on the shark?! Yes, I accidentally forgot to paint the bottom fin! I'll have to go back and add that!
I also painted 2 canvases from images on their kleenex container. Here's the kleenex container...
and here's the canvasses I painted...
You can't tell from these photos but I added real sand to the paint for a 3-D textured effect. I also hot-glued rope to the edges (after I already snapped photos of the canvasses). It was a very fun room to paint!
Speaking of canvasses, here's a few more I have painted in the past...

Happy Valentine's Day, Mom & Dad ;-)
Last Saturday was Valentine's Day. The girls warned Steve & I the night before to sleep in because they wanted to prepare something special the next morning. They let us sleep until the late, late hour of 7:20 in the morning and asked us to come into the living room. They had decorated the coffee table with flowers, Valentines, presents, candy and a "delicious" breakfast. It was very, very sweet. I'm not quite sure how long my Grape Nuts had been sitting in milk but you can imagine their texture ;-) The girls have also seen me put something white on my cereal and assumed it was salt. Now you can imagine how "wonderful" it tasted ;-) It's the thought that counts, right?!
Here's a picture of the party favors "A" passed out when we were done eating ;-)
We didn't even want to attempt to eat out that night & fight the crowds so we decided to eat a "fancy" family dinner in. This is PITIFUL but after almost 17 years of marriage, I have never used my fine china! It has been sitting pretty on a shelf for years so I thought what a better time than now to use it! Of course, I had to wash the inch-thick dust off the dishes, but it was well worth it. The girls had a good time setting the table and helping prepare the steak and baked potato dinner. We also had a heart-shaped brownie for dessert. Afterwards, we watched "Wallie" - such a cute movie and a fun love story to watch for Valentine's Day!
Here's a few pics from our fun night...
We are blessed to have such sweet and thoughtful girls.
Our Co-Op Valentine's Party
Our homeschool Co-Op had a fun party last Friday to celebrate Valentine's Day. The kids made Valentine boxes at home then brought them to the party to exchange Valentines in. They were all very creative ;-)
They also had a great time decorating cookies and playing games. Here's a few pics from the party...
We Need More Snow!!!
Spring is about a month away and the girls are complaining that they haven't had enough snow to build a snowman yet. The only snow we've seen is a slight dusting on the ground - and most of that was ice!
Here's a picture of them playing with their make-shift sled from a cardboard box. Pitiful, I know. We should probably invest in a real one but we hate to if we're not going to get much use out of it!
More snow, please ;-)
